30 Days of Thanks | Day 12 – Running for a Reason

Today, my son participated in the 2nd Annual Gamehaven True Cross Country Run.  This is an event to help the Gamehaven Boy Scout Council of Rochester, MN.  I am thankful that he, and the other runners, thought enough to give of their time to do something to help raise money for the boy scouts and challenge themselves in the process.  KC Reed, the organizer of the event, does an excellent job of encouraging area high school students to participate as well as area runners and friends of the boy scout council. This is definitely not an easy event by any means!  One of James’ CC teammates’ mother and father ran in the event.  The mom said this was the hardest race she has ever run!  Her words speak true as the the participants navigated a 5 mile course through two river crossings, across bales of hay, up and down hills, through a bog and over a log at the end!  James placed 30th last year in a time of just over 40 minutes.  This year he placed 28th in a much more competitive field in a time of just under 35 minutes.
