Just wanted to wish all the great fathers out there a Happy Father’s Day!
Some men are fathers by blood, some men are fathers by heart. Those are the fathers that step in and make a difference to children and treat them as if they are their own. It’s such a tough role to fill, but we have so many friends that do just that and I think you guys deserve the same recognition! With that said, I couldn’t let this day pass without thanking Brian for being such an amazing father figure to my son, James, for the past 10 years! Anyone who knows Brian, knows how nice and funny and caring he is and he has taken all of his wonderful characteristics and made such a strong impression on my son. I think that has a lot to do with the wonderful role model he had as a father growing up!
I hope you were all lucky enough to spend time with your family today. This is how we spent our Father’s Day!
Highlights from our day:
We gave a truck load of wood to Brian’s dad for Father’s Day…he wanted to give him a manly gift!
Brian was the Grill Master.
Jim was laid up, but he was still able to enjoy the day!
Brian and James were partners for the bean bag tourney.
Brian and James were also the big winners on the day! What a great way to spend Father’s Day!
I also want to send out an extra special Father’s Day greeting to the Woodcock family. You may recall their session HERE.
I was honored to be able to photograph their family last fall before Doug deployed to Afghanistan. Well, I am beyond thrilled to report that he arrived home today at 5AM! What a wonderful way for him to spend this Father’s Day!
I am very appreciative and thankful for the soldiers who serve our country, sacrificing their time with their families to do a job that is so important. I thank God for keeping Doug safe during his deployment and wish the Woodcock family well as they are finally all together again!
Today I had the pleasure of heading out to the Roeder farm to capture their family photos! 9 adults, 4 kids and a new baby on the way 🙂 Naomi, the eldest son’s wife, was a rock star in arranging things for the family. Coordinating plans for that many people can not be an easy feat! We were very lucky that the location was an easy decision. They have a beautiful farm just a short drive from town that gave us the perfect backdrop for their session. Not only was the scenery gorgeous, they had a fun wagon that made the perfect prop for this photo. My favorite part of my job as a photographer is to capture a moment in time for families and give them beautiful products that they can cherish forever. This has never rung more true than it has for this session. Mike is battling metastatic melanoma. He was feeling great for our session and surely enjoyed having his whole family together, listening to the boys banter, watching the grandkids run around…even if a little bit of corn was trampled, and enjoying the beautiful weather. Please keep their family in your prayers as Mike continues his treatment and for new beginnings as Joey and Amy will be welcoming a new addition to their family soon!
