I have been a little MIA from posting lately as I have been spending my time getting caught up on the year end rush. It’s been an incredible fall season, minus the illnesses, and I am very thankful for the wonderful families that have chosen me as their photographer, for letting me into your homes and allowing me to get to know you all while capturing those precious memories of your sweet families! I love this aspect of my job so much.
Most of all, I am thankful to my wonderful family! They unconditionally support my passion for photography, even if it means that I am missing out on time with them. They put up with my late nights editing, my photography gear and props that have taken over our house, dinners at the table amongst piles of photography magazines, products and paperwork and listening to me whine when my hand and arm are going numb from spending hours at my computer. They load and unload my vehicle with all of my gear, they pose for pictures so I can practice new techniques and set-ups and they listen to me talk photography more than any family should have to tolerate. They truly are amazing!
I am really going to make a better effort to get IN the pictures WITH them this year. I want so much to have those same precious memories with my family. I want my son to have pictures of us together and be able to look back years from now and remember the fun that we had and how much he was loved. I want to get those pictures OFF my computer so they don’t live and die there, unseen. Yes, it’s time for me to update all those photos in frames, albums and canvases on my walls as well 🙂 I believe that every family should surround themselves with images of the people they love. Actual prints that will stand the test of time, not just a digital copy that someday will be obsolete.
With that said, here is our annual family photo in front of our Christmas tree. I love seeing how much we have changed and how much James has grown. It’s been a few years since we’ve had a family picture with Spotty so we were able to get one with him this year too, after all, he is an important member of our family too! I hope you all got to spend time with your families over the holidays as well! Wishing you all a joyous Christmas and wonderful start to your New Year, from our family to yours!
